🎶 Women’s History Month Spotlight: Dr. Monika Herzig 🎶 This Women’s History Month, the New Orleans Jazz Museum is celebrating the contributions of women in jazz, from performance to education and research. Today, we highlight Dr. Monika Herzig, a jazz pianist, professor, researcher, and advocate for diversity in jazz. Dr. Herzig is the Vice Rector for Diversity and Internationalization and Professor for Artistic Research at Jam Music Lab Private University in Vienna. She is the author of David Baker – A Legacy in Music and Experiencing Chick Corea: A Listener’s Companion, as well as the co-editor of Jazz and Gender. She also serves as the chair of the research committee for the Jazz Education Network (JEN) and is on the editorial committee for JAZZ (Jazz Education in Research and Practice, IU Press).
