November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I was diagnosed. Managing diabetes is hard—it’s a constant balance, a constant learning curve—but these years have taught me so much about who I am. What started as one of the biggest challenges of my life has become a passion that fuels me to chase my dreams and show others that they can, too.
For me, diabetes advocacy means showing up—sharing the real moments, the tough ones, the wins, and everything in between. It’s using my voice and my story to remind others they’re not alone.
Being a Dexcom Warrior has given me so many opportunities to do that, and hearing from people that my story has helped their child feel less alone or inspired them to keep pursuing their dreams despite their diagnosis makes everything worth it.
This is exactly why I’ll always continue speaking out about Type 1 and sharing all the real and raw moments.
