I don’t think y’all can understand how filled with joy my heart is to finally read my favorite book with the kiddos. To share this tale, that I read by myself at 8 years old, and to see them as enthralled by Tolkien’s knack for scene setting and character building is everything I hoped for. Them laughing at the humor and excitedly sitting up through the fits of danger shows me how much they are getting it. Puzzling it the riddles and forcing me to sing them the songs and play the old Rankin/Bass 70’s music for them as they sing with me… It is all so very fulfilling. I’m already sad to know it will be over all too soon. But I hope they carry it with them forever, as I know I shall. #thehobbit #JRRTolkien
