Championship golf is returning to the Berkshires, as Country Club of Pittsfield will host the 2026 Massachusetts Super Senior Amateur Championship and the 2027 Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship, both for the first time.
Influenced in design by Donald Ross, and now officially a Wayne Stiles course, this scenic track was recently upgraded and renovated in 2003 adding over 25 new bunkers and redoing all others. Bruce Hepner Golf Design conducted additional renovation work in 2020.
Pittsfield has hosted Mass Open qualifying every year since 2019 and has previously hosted two of the state’s signature events: the Mass Open (1960, 2000), the Mass Amateur (1954, 1984).
Most recently, Pittsfield welcomed the 2016 Massachusetts Women’s Four-Ball Championship for the Townshend Cup, won by twins Sophie and Chloe DiPetrillo, and before that hosted the 2006 Massachusetts Senior Amateur Championship, won by the late Jim Ruschioni.
