I fell in love with this project, and the more I discovered about his career, the more excited I got. From his tough, physical playing style to his warm, infectious personality, I realized I had a big challenge ahead of me in capturing who he truly is. I aimed for the main portrait to reflect his fun and kind nature, which is why you see that genuine smile. Inside the "1000" are 16 smaller illustrations showcasing shots, hits, celebrations, and his impeccable style over the years. Generally, the images progress chronologically from left to right, starting with his early days with the dallasstars, then moving to the sanjosesharks, followed by the capitals and nhljets, and finally wrapping up with the njdevils.
