One&Only Moonlight Basin in Montana has opened on the edge of Big Sky’s terrain, with jaw-dropping cabins and suites set in the forest. In Dubai, the rise of Mandarin Oriental Downtown over Sheikh Zayed Road, with 10 restaurants and floor-to-ceiling Gulf views, feels ambitious even for the UAE. Lightwell Hotel & Spa reopened a 1904 landmark in downtown Hood River, Oregon, with a basalt-walled spa and the town’s only rooftop bar. Down in Newport Beach, Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel has done an amazing renovation of a 1960s surf motel into a very cute, neighborly stay near the harbor.
