"It was an automated denial" 🤖📉 We finally got a Supervisor on the phone regarding our denied $11,000 NICU claim, and the truth came out. Even though we submitted through their "Global Core" portal... their internal system didn't mark it as an international claim. So an algorithm automatically denied it for "No Prior Authorization" (on an emergency birth 🙃) without a human ever looking at it. Joshua refused to let them hang up until we got answers. His strategy: 1️⃣ He informed them he is filing a complaint with the New York Department of Financial Services. (This got the Supervisor’s attention immediately). 2️⃣ Insurance companies don't care about you. They care about the Employer who pays the premiums. If you are fighting a denial, get your HR/Employer to file a complaint.
