My time here has not been without challenges, and there were a lot of times I wanted to give up. However, the faculty here made me feel like I could conquer anything.
I have people depending on me and I’ve learned that I’m more of an inspiration to my family than I thought.
I chose psychology as my major because I grew up experiencing mental health issues at home. Being there for my mother is a major drive for me.
I’ve really appreciated the lectures here because they taught me how to understand more and judge less. Dealing with mental illness is a lot – not only does it affect the people around you, but it takes a significant toll on the person that’s going through it.
My mother’s diagnosis inspired me to continue to learn more about it so I can be more of an assistance to her. It took a lot for me to get here and now I know that I can endure anything.
