Attention to detail is key! This is one of my favorite band exercises. I do it every day before starting a long day of training athletes how to throw. It activates the teres major, subscapularis, and serratus anterior which are crucial pre-throw.

@speigs17 in this video. He’s not the only one that struggles with this drill by letting the elbow slide out of place. Aidan is a wrestler and is much stronger than most kids at his age. He’s able to bench press 185 weighing in at 128. I try to explain to him that flexibility and strengthening the smaller muscles around the shoulder are key for a healthy throwing arm. Aidan is learning and as we open up his pectoral muscles his throwing velo from the outfield will increase!
