Vertical strength is great, but football is a horizontal fight.
The sled teaches you to lean forward, drive your feet back, and put force into the ground the same way you do on a real rep.
Offseason
• One to two heavy sled days to build drive strength
• One to two lighter acceleration days to teach your body to punch the ground and move
Preseason
• Blend sled work with your position drills
• Match your stance, pad level, and first three steps to the way you actually play
In season
• One moderate sled day keeps your legs strong and your trunk stiff
• You stay explosive without getting crushed by soreness
Run this all year and you will be stronger, faster, and a lot harder to move.
