When I set out to make my book, MONTANA: Photographs from the Last Best Place, I wanted to make something that honored the state as a whole. I knew I could easily fill the pages with the iconics, Glacier, Bozeman, etc, and target tourists looking to fill their shelves with a memento from their vacation. But my goal was to make something Montanans could be proud of. A Montana book that represented… well… Montana. And, of course, I am grateful for all of the visitors who have supported my book and taken a small piece of our great state home. But as I looked through the book orders these past six months, I am overcome with pride to see the book being shipped to every corner of the state. Places like Dell (Pop 17), Turner (Pop 46), and so many other small towns that hold special places in my heart. Enough rambling.
