For eleven months since the fires, the Black Music Action Coalition has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the families of Altadena—families whose roots in this community stretch back generations. We have listened as residents spoke with courage and clarity about what this place represents: history carried forward, legacy earned, culture created, and a shared responsibility to protect all of it. In the immediate aftermath, BMAC mobilized quickly, deploying an initial $400,000 through partners and rapid-response fundraising. Today, we are deepening that commitment with a new $500,000 guaranteed income program—meeting urgent needs, keeping families in their homes, and empowering this community to rebuild from within. Because this work is more than disaster relief. It is restoration. It is investment.
