To be young, educated, and Black.
In just 10 days, I’ll be walking across the stage at the illustrious Prairie View A&M University to receive my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. The journey to this moment has been far from linear — the road was curvy, bumpy, and unpredictable. But every time I hit a turn, a setback, or a moment of doubt, I relied on my navigation system: my family and friends. They guided me, grounded me, and kept me pointed toward the destination I was always meant to reach.
Thank you to my family and friends for being my village through it all. I came to PV a girl and I’m leaving a Woman — confident, capable, and ready for the next chapter.
As a first-generation graduate, this moment means everything and is now a part of my legacy — a door opened, a cycle broken, and a new path laid for everyone who comes after me..
This chapter closes soon, but the story continues — and it’s only getting better.
