“Failure free” training doesn’t mean dogs never make mistakes. In this reply I explain how I arrange the environment so the correct choice is obvious when a dog is first learning, then adds distractions only after confidence and clarity are built.
Dogs do make errors, but by that stage they self-correct easily because they understand the game. That’s why dogs trained this way can handle pressure and even thrive in stressful environments, the clarity comes first, then the challenges!
