This Brazilian free-tailed bat was recently admitted to our von Arx Wildlife Hospital after being found unable to fly. 🦇 Bats are the only mammals capable of true flight. There are now officially 1,500 species worldwide of bats, making it the 2nd largest group of mammals. Bats are essential to our environment as they help maintain pest control and pollination.
