But after 5 long years, I finally returned to my roots in Chawolo, Uganda. The time back brought so many emotions. These past years, I’ve missed out on friendships, weddings, funerals, and more. All chasing the goals I’ve set for myself.
It’s hard to explain what the time back did for me. “Reset” is too light of a word. It gave me life.
I didn’t know how much I missed home. Being with my parents was the biggest of these. I needed that more than I knew.
Eating home food, learning new things, and even just working on myself. I’m so grateful to God for the opportunity I had to be back. It’s reminded me how short life is, and how important it is to treasure family, home, and love.
