Honoring one of the best in the business. 👏 On #NationalVolunteerDay, we’re proud to recognize Bill McClearn, the recipient of this year’s #JimTopliff Award — an honor named after longtime CGA Tournament Director Jim Topliff and awarded annually to a volunteer rules official who goes above and beyond. Bill began volunteering with the CGA in 2018 and achieved advanced rules status by 2023. Since then, he’s officiated at the highest levels: Korn Ferry Tour qualifiers, NCAA DII Regionals, collegiate events, Colorado Opens, CGA Championships, and USGA qualifiers. His dedication, integrity, and passion for the Rules of Golf have influenced players at every stage of the game — from juniors just learning the ropes to seasoned competitors. To be added to a list of Topliff honorees filled with nationally recognized rules leaders makes this recognition especially meaningful. Congratulations, Bill — and thank you for giving back to the game with such humility, humor, and heart.
