The 2026 Student Choreography Workshop is officially under way, opening a new season of creativity, collaboration, and trainee led innovation at the Joffrey Ballet School. Guided by a structure created by Artistic Director At-Large Angelica Stiskin angelicastiskin, this multi phase workshop invites our year round Trainees to step into the role of choreographer and shape their own ideas toward a fully produced performance. The first phase begins with student led auditions, where emerging choreographers work with dancers from both trainee programs to explore movement, test concepts, and begin selecting the artists they hope to cast in their pieces. Throughout the season, chosen choreographers receive weekly mentorship from our Artistic Staff, working one on one with faculty as they rehearse, refine, and deepen their artistic voice.
