Imagine living in a world where you’re not free to express yourself. Where wearing clothes feels more restricting than freeing. Where sharing stories means editing out who you really are. Where loving someone becomes a secret you have to keep. For many of our friends in the LGBTQ+ community, this isn’t just a thought experiment, but real life. In fact, only 8% of LGBT youth in Singapore feel comfortable sharing their identity with their parents. It’s a number that shouldn’t sit right with any of us. Because if only 8% of us could share who we really are … there would be no more room for freedom, authenticity, and true joy. Let’s move the needle whenever we can, wherever.
