I spent the last couple of days zipping around on the city bikes, seeing way more than I would’ve sat in a Didi (China’s private hire system) or on foot. This isn’t something tourists can easily do, because you need a local number to set up an account (from what I understand). So if you have a friend in Shanghai, I highly recommend asking if they can help you get access. Hello Bike ilysm!!! 🩵🚲
This trip was meant to be a week-long visit to see my good friend gelatowong in her new home. But plot twist: she had to fly back to Singapore for a work trip during my stay hahaha. So most part of my trip turned out to be a solo-trip 😆
The first 48 hours were…intense. But once I wrapped my head around all the apps you need to survive in China (more on this soon), things got a lot smoother....
