We’ve been made to believe that bread is a “bad carb” and that it’s best to leave it out from your shopping list.
But thing is, bread is still a staple for so many people. It’s accessible, affordable, and convenient to prepare. And there’s nothing inherently “unhealthy” about it!
The type of bread you purchase matters though. I hope this helps you understand a bit more about the different TYPES of bread we mainly find in the supermarket.
Remember – always read the ingredients list.
Go for whole grain options to benefit from the fibre, which help to reduce blood sugar spikes, support a healthy gut, and keep you fuller for longer.
☝🏼 If you want a simple hack: look for bread that has ‘WHOLEmeal flour’ or ‘WHOLE grain flour’ as the first ingredient on the list.
