Meet Artur Dove 👋 He’s not used to being in the big city, but head office thought he was the right bird for the job!   Yesterday, Artur travelled all the way to Westminster to deliver our Christmas card for the Government, calling on them to increase support for nature-friendly farming, which is essential for helping wildlife like the Turtle Dove to recover.   Once a familiar sound of summer, the turtur of Turtle Doves has all but disappeared from the UK. Other species such as the Lapwing, Yellowhammer, and Corn Bunting are facing similar declines.   But there is still hope!   With this hand in, we hope that it demonstrates that when we support the people who care for the land, we support the wildlife that depends on it.   So as Artur makes his way back to his winter home, we hope that he and other Turtle Doves alike have a chance to thrive this Christmas 🎄   #turtledoves #savenature #naturefriendlyfarming   [Turtle Dove audio credit: Niels Krabbe / xeno-canto.org/58791]
