Who we are will always be stronger than who pretends to be us. ❤️🩹
Over the last few days, emotions have been high across Turtle Island — and rightfully so. Communities are exhausted watching others claim an identity they never lived. People are grieving harm, confronting history, and protecting what’s sacred to us.
But in moments like this, it’s worth remembering:
If you’re Native, you’re Native.
Rez, city, dark-skinned, light-skinned, connected, disconnected, survivor, healer: Your story matters, and your identity is lived. Not claimed.
Pretendians cause harm, yes. But they do not define us. Our joy, our humour, our teachings, our ancestors, our nations — that is where our power lives. And the truth will always reveal itself.
#TurtleIsland: Be proud of who you are, and treat others with kindness. You’re welcome to vent or share your perspective in the comments. 💭⤵️
