Please send Mateo your best wishes — he’s doing great after having #heartsurgery as a baby! When Mateo’s mom, Deseri, was pregnant, doctors diagnosed her baby with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of #Fallot. Deseri traveled to #UCSF from #Eureka for monthly appointments, and in November 2022, Mateo was born at our #SanFrancisco hospital. Our team discovered Mateo actually had a less serious heart condition called a #ventricular septal defect. Dr. V. Mohan Reddy closed the hole in Mateo's heart when he was nine months old. Mateo is now a happy 2-year-old, who loves monster trucks, airplanes and playing in the water. He's looking forward to his third birthday and loves going to the sanfranciscozoo!
