#hearttransplant! When she was 3 years old, Savannah experienced symptoms of asthma, low appetite and became sick with RSV. Shortly after, she was hospitalized at another location and was unfortunately diagnosed with
#heartfailure. She was sick often, and in September 2020, she transferred to our
#Oakland hospital, where doctors confirmed her diagnosis of restrictive cardiomyopathy, a condition that affects blood flow to the heart.
Savannah came to our
#SanFrancisco hospital for further testing and was able to manage symptoms at home with medication for a while.
Unfortunately, she continued to struggle with respiratory illnesses. In July 2021, she was re-admitted to our San Francisco hospital at age 6, and our team placed her on the heart transplant list. A month into Savannah’s stay, she had a
