You can’t keep Alabama in and leave BYU out of the College Football Playoff when they both lost the Conference Championship game. BYU lost twice to the #4 team in the country. Texas Tech is a GREAT team. BYU should still be in the College Football Playoff at 11-2 with the 2 best losses of any team in the country. 11 win teams shouldn’t be punished for the result of the Conference Championship game. Period. There is no way the CFP committee can justify putting Alabama in the Playoff with 3 loses and 1 coming against a 5-7 Florida State team. So ultimately the CFP committee will leave out Alabama, put Notre Dame and Miami in the Playoff and screw over BYU. It helps them avoid leaving out a Miami team with a head to head win over Notre Dame while they both have the same record at the end of the season.
