John Cena opened up on The Joe Rogan Experience about the 2021 Taiwan controversy, revealing he offered to quit Peacemaker to save the show. Cena explained the error came from a scripted promo tour for Fast & Furious 9 where he read a prompt in Mandarin calling Taiwan a country. "I didn't check the reads... I read the prompt. It's like a Ron Burgundy moment," Cena said. "One of them said, 'Taiwan... be the first country to see this.'" The backlash was immediate from all sides. "I had to apologize to China, and in apologizing to China, I pissed off my home country," Cena explained. "I’m a patriot. I love the United States of America... But no one, it was never enough.
