A lot can change in 11 years…😳
During my senior year of high school, I won Nike cross country nationals. I was also in the midst of a serious eating disorder, absolutely convinced that being my smallest self was the key to success. I thought if my body changed, I would be slower…and if I were slower, I would be worthless.
While I’m proud of what I accomplished in high school, it felt good to return to Glendoveer 11 years later & do it right this time. I got to reclaim this race as a fueled, powerful, joyful runner…and do it faster for twice as long 😉🤷♀️👏 if younger me could see me now, she wouldn’t believe that this body could possibly be faster, but I’ve proven that it is. Only took me a little over a decade, but it’s been done 💥
And through everything, I’ve had the most amazing support system. Especially my parents, who are still traveling around the country to watch me chase my dreams 🥹🫶
