Coming from someone in his late 30s who spent half his fitness journey obsessed with size and aesthetics and coaching people for 15+ years. here’s the truth:
If you don’t build a balanced body, your capability will fade long before your looks do.
Most people don’t feel “old”… they just move like someone who stopped training the things that keep them young.
Here are the biggest limiting factors I see every day (and they’re all fixable):
1️⃣ No intent behind training
Showing up isn’t enough. Mindless reps = no progress, no adaptation, no confidence in your body.
2️⃣ Avoiding stability & balance work
Skip single-leg, rotational, anti-rotation, uneven movements… and you lose the foundation for athleticism.
3️⃣ Weak, undertrained core (the real core)
If you’re only training abs, you’re missing flexion, extension, rotation, anti-rotation, lateral flexion. A weak core makes you stiff.
