As we move into show week for CADENCE, our Jazz and Contemporary trainees stepped into their final in studio run last week with a raw, driving energy. These works are athletic, rhythmically complex, and rooted in powerful stories, and the studio became a space where those layers rose fully to the surface.⁠ ⁠ Each dancer brings something uniquely their own, shaping the choreography with individuality, nuance, and connection. You can feel the pulse of each piece as rhythm, intention, and physicality lock into place before everything shifts to the theater.⁠ ⁠ Today we are at the theater for tech rehearsal, adjusting lights, spacing, and all the details that transform the work from the studio to the stage.
