You already know by now I’m the weird witch girl who loves to write music about my crazy stories. I had no idea where I wanted to take this song when I was writing it, all I knew is that I wanted to title it “Purple Plum Trees” as that has been a theme in my project for some time now. When I was writing the song, I had an intense and clear image pop in my head of Kali as the tree with her arms as the branches and the roots. I call these thoughts “downloads” or “channeling” which is when I reach such a flow state that I feel like the music just pours out of me even when I don’t know where it’s coming from or going. Now we know what I was tapping into when we wrote it😂 After Diego and I were done with the song & all of its twists and turns, we found out the lyrics we were singing meant “speak Kali ma” and “thank you Kali ma”.
