God sent earthly angels to watch out for me, even when I felt invisible in my illness.
I felt this incredible sense of love from people I barely knew when my Church community fasted and prayed for me as I battled cancer. They even found an extra mailbox to put at the bottom of our driveway, and the “Hugs for Holland” mailbox became a symbol of that love. Day after day, it was filled with notes and small surprises from strangers and friends, all anonymously placed just to brighten my day. And on my hardest days with chemo, my friends were there to cut and style my hair and make the journey more bearable. Even when I lost my hair and couldn’t recognize myself in the mirror, everyone loved me just the same. They loved me for who I am, not just how I look.
I am so grateful for my earthly angels who showed up for me. Without their love, I don’t think I could have gotten through chemo. The Lord knew my needs. So, He sent these people to help me. He never leaves us alone, even when it feels...
