Proud Dad moment. Teaching my daughter to become an outdoorswoman has been one of the most special memories to me. She had never shot a rifle until this hunt. After I taught her gun safety and got her dialed in at 100 yards on the range, I knew it was time to hunt. The next day we searched for a mature doe and Ava made the perfect shot at 107 yards. She was nervous, but turned and look at me after she squeezed the trigger and said, “Dad, I didn’t miss. I was right on.” My little girl was right. I was so proud! We hauled in her bounty in our canamoffroad & she watched me gut the animal with my montanaknifecompany Whitetail. Then I made her choose our processing order at Bayco Meats in Seymour. I teach my kids 100% utilization of any animal we harvest. Last night our family all enjoyed a spaghetti dinner loaded with Ava’s harvest in the sauce.
