Austin Fashion Week has partnered with Beauty Over Bruises to create the first-ever RESILIENCE runway show during AFW Fall 2025! According to recent statistics, 1 in 3 Texans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. This means you likely know someone, even if they haven’t directly shared about it, who has experienced some form of domestic violence; perhaps you are a survivor yourself. Our partnership’s shared mission is to raise awareness about domestic violence, its prevalence, and to encourage those of you who are survivors to step forward and to heal/express yourself through art. We will keep anything you share confidential. We have chosen to weave the color purple into our theme for this particular show. Purple is the color for domestic violence awareness as it symbolizes dignity, courage, and the dedication to end domestic violence.
