The man behind Fyre Festival, which was marketed as an exclusive luxury music festival but failed spectacularly twice, has been getting mocked on social media for his comeback party. Billy McFarland generated massive buzz for the first Fyre Festival in 2017, getting it promoted by rapper Ja Rule and promising the event would be packed with 'A-list' celebrities. In reality, guests paid $500-12,000 and ended up stranded on an island with no running water, hardly any food, and a mattress in a tent as the only place for them to sleep. McFarland was sentenced to six years in prison in 2018 for defrauding investors out of $26 million along with more than $100,000 in additional fraudulent ticket-selling schemes. Read more on
