It’s cold out, so we’re warming up your feed ☀️🌸 Did you know Hofstra has its very own tulip? 🌷 The Hofstra University Tulip, a pure white Darwin hybrid, was named and presented to Hofstra in 1985 by Dr. Cornelius Boertien, commissioner for the Queen of the Netherlands. Our Dutch roots run deep, beginning with William S. Hofstra himself, who was proud of his Dutch heritage. 🦁 Every fall, Hofstra’s Plant Department plants thousands of bulbs that burst into life each spring, creating a display of 75,000+ tulips across campus, alongside 250,000+ daffodils and other spring blooms. 🌼 The tulips are reimagined as part of our new brand, illustrating campus elements that make us uniquely Hofstra. • • • #Hofstra #HofstraU #CampusBeauty #Arboretum #HigherEd #University
