We’re in Buffalo, New York — home of the chicken wing — and there’s no better place to taste history than Bar Bill Tavern. Serving wings since the late 1960s, Bar Bill has become a Buffalo staple with lines out the door on game day.
In this episode of United States of Plates, I went behind the scenes with owner John to see how they make thousands of wings a day, learned why their unique “painting” method sets them apart, and tried some of their most famous sauces (including Josh Allen’s go-to).
And of course… I couldn’t leave without taking on Bar Bill’s legendary “Suicidal” wing challenge. One bite, and I found out; it’s no joke.
