I had to take my brother and sister to Leadville for her birthday. Its one of the most beautiful places in the world, but its also the highest encorporated town in America. The altitude hit her hard before we even hit 10,000 ft. POTS makes moments like this scary, and I almost called the whole day off. But she wanted to keep going, so we did. The sun disappeared behind Twin Lakes, so instead of a swim, we took a freezing plunge that turned into one of the greatest memories we’ve ever made together. Getting her back up to the car was tough, but step by step she made it just in time to watch the sky catch fire.
