What does it mean to be a Girl Warrior? Forgiveness, failure and rising up. #UTulsa’s Oklahoma Center for the Humanities, Magic City Books and The Bob Dylan Center hosted former United States Poet Laureate Joy Harjo at 101 Archer in downtown Tulsa. Harjo celebrated the publication of her latest book, “Girl Warrior,” where she shares stories of her own coming of age. Harjo spoke about her book in conversation with Mvskoke citizen, scholar and educator Sarah Price, who works as an Education Specialist for the Bureau of Indian Education, navigating federal, state and tribal education systems.
