I recently test drove #BMW’s new hydrogen powered iX5 with #BMWGroup. This was a moment! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it surprisingly drives just like any other electric vehicle. It still doesn’t release any pollutants into the air, just water vapor from the exhaust pipe. However, a key difference to a BEV is that it can be refueled within 3-4 minutes to 100%. The refueling infrastructure is still being built out within the US, but we can expect to see more of them around 2030. As for the 1st BMW Hydrogen model, we can expect to see those released around 2028. Consider this is a peek into what is here now and what is to come.
