Today I went to a protest to support one of the places I love most — Armenia. I’m sure you all know how much I love my culture and my home away from home. It’s so hard to be so far away, feeling like I can’t do much to help. But today, amongst my Armenian brothers and sisters of the diaspora, I felt like I was doing something to support Armenia from afar. With a new challenge added on top of the pandemic, Armenia is struggling, and for my non-Armenian followers, here’s an explanation of what’s going on between Armenia and Azerbaijan:  A Little History: The land at the center of this conflict is called The Republic of Artsakh (also known as Nagorno-Karabakh). It was annexed by the Soviets (USSR) in the 1920s and was controlled by Azerbaijan — even though 95% of the area is comprised of Armenians. Since then, the area has been fought over in the Nagorno-Karabakh War (1988-1994) and the Four Day War of 2016. The area is currently a de facto independent state. What’s Happening Now?: ...
