Andy Warhol's Green Coca-Cola Bottles was created in 1962, the same year Warhol pioneered silkscreen printing, letting him mirror the mass production behind his pop-culture subjects. A single Coke bottle is repeated in a precise grid, yet each one subtly varies—hand-stamped outlines, uneven green washes, bottles slightly askew. As a result, the bottles appear simultaneously handmade and individualized, and streamlined and mass-produced.
