Veteran actor Amy Madigan is acknowledging and giving thanks to the communities who have taken in her character Gladys from 2025 horror film ‘Weapons’. Madigan, in a 8 December interview with Variety, acknowledged that many in the queer and drag communities have embraced Gladys as a “gay icon,” drawn to her flamboyant style, theatrical energy, and unapologetically campy vibe. “People actually like Aunt Gladys. They kind of want to hang out with her. I’m very, very happy and grateful that the gay community and the drag community have really accepted Gladys. The people that I’ve talked to have said, “We’re the other.
