Day 1 was a long and crazy one. I started with fencing, moved on to Judo, and finished with Rugby Sevens. I quickly realized that navigating Paris during the Olympics is a huge hassle and that good planning is absolutely key—a lesson I learned the hard way on the first day! 😅
I had never covered any of these sports before and wanted to challenge myself by doing something different. Here are a few frames, but I know I can do better next time. Losing so much time traveling between arenas and covering unfamiliar sports was not ideal.
I've been "informed/warned" that working from early morning until right after midnight, then editing until 3 or 4 AM for maybe three hours of sleep a night, will be standard. That first day, I knew this would be the reality for the whole tournament. But it is important to show that you can perform at a high level under these conditions. 📸💻
Most importantly: covering a Summer Olympics is an honor and the biggest fun. 🤗
