On this International Mountain Day, we'd be remiss not to honor the majestic Three Sisters that our town and rodeo are named after. These three peaks have stood watch over these lands for thousands of years. The Sisters (once called Faith, Hope, and Charity by early settlers) rise more than 10,000 feet above Central Oregon as a part of the great Cascade Mountain Range. Long before settlers, these mountains and the lands at their feet were home to Native people, shepherds, explorers, and dreamers. Today, the view of the Three Sisters remains a symbol of stability, endurance, and timeless Western soul.
