Swipe ⬅️ to meet the Flower Crown Men of Rijal Almaa, Saudi Arabia 🌺👑 🌼 Photographer Tasneem Alsultan visited the Asir region in Saudi Arabia, where locals have worn flower crowns for centuries. The tradition is deeply rooted in the Qahtan and other mountain tribes whose history in the area goes back over 2,000 years. In Rijal Almaa, a heritage village that is around 1,000 years old, men still craft and wear these vibrant garlands as part of their daily life and celebrations. The wreaths are woven from fresh marigolds, basil, jasmine, and wild herbs. Many people claim that certain plants help alleviate headaches or sinus pain, so the crowns are designed for both scent and style. To keep the tradition alive, the Ministry of Culture launched the Flowerman Festival in 2019 in Rijal Almaa. In 2021, the village was named one of the UN World Tourism Organization’s Best Tourism Villages, highlighting the region’s long cultural history. 👉 Would you visit this heritage site? #Pubity #...
