Eli Lilly and Company announced it was investing more than $6 billion in a new manufacturing facility in Huntsville’s Greenbrier South industrial park. The largest initial investment in state history, according to Gov. Kay Ivey.
Lilly will bring 450 jobs to the area, including engineers, scientists, operations personnel and lab technicians. Work on the facility is expected to begin in 2026 and will generate 3,000 construction jobs.
In addition to its workforce potential, the region offers ready access to utilities, transportation and favorable zoning and incentives, Lilly said.

The next-generation synthetic medicine active pharmaceutical ingredient facility will produce small molecule synthetic and peptide medicines. It is the third of four new U.S. sites Lilly plans to announce.
