Agents with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service are currently investigating a Mobile County home that is reported to contain over a dozen monkeys in cages.
Officials told WKRG they’re taking inventory of the animals on the property, which also includes domestic cats and dogs. WKRG spoke with a couple neighbors who had encounters with the animals.
“I don’t know them, personally,” neighbor Tara Summers told the outlet.
“When I was a kid, I did play with the monkeys once, actually, because they had pigs that got out in the neighborhood that randomly came into the yard.”
“I’ve actually had the monkeys bite me before,” said neighbor Masey Miller.
“I remember back when I was like 16, it was like three years ago, one of the monkeys was, like, sexist. And they didn’t like women, so it was always biting girls. That’s why it bit me. I think."
As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, no one has been arrested, according to WKRG.
