FFor a trip that only lasted 9 days, it’s one that lives in my brain rent free. Georgia is full of epic mountains, endless adventure, and hospitality that borders on aggressive in the best way. Every meal turns into a feast, with endless plates of khachapuri, khinkali, grilled meats, fresh herbs, and bread that never seems to stop arriving. You eat until you are full, and then someone brings more food anyway. And then there is the wine. Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, with more than 8,000 years of winemaking history. Much of it is still made in qvevri, clay vessels buried underground, resulting in bold, earthy wines that taste like nothing else. Wine is poured freely, toasts are constant, and strangers quickly feel like old friends. The cover slide is Ushguli.
