As the leaves fall and the cold sets in, UC Berkeley students bundle up and lock in for the last stretch before winter break: DEAD WEEK. A full seven days of stress-induced hair pulling and intensive nail biting, dead week serves as a last chance to salvage your grades and watch a month’s worth of lectures for the class you stopped going to after Halloween. But dead week is not just a week to lock in and stress out. Rest and recovery are key to preparing your mind for the puzzling finals and essays ahead. In this paper, we offer you, fellow students and readers, eight pages of freedom and many different puzzles to refocus and refresh your tired brains. Whether you tackle our puzzles with your friends, study buddies or alone, we hope you enjoy The Daily Californian’s 2025 Puzzles Issue and finish this trying semester strong!
